Never Enough Time
Sep. 1st, 2017 01:51 pmThere’s never enough time to do everything I want to do.
I’m about to unplug for a couple of weeks.
The Cauldron of Eternal Inspiration will continue to post Unwilling to Be Yours in my absence. The Forbidden Cauldron will offer up weekly new parts of Dayel’s Discomfort, a prompt which turned into a monster post. My Sources of Inspiration has been set up to go live (crosses fingers and hopes that goes smoothly).
Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Goodreads, Archive of Our Own, and Google+ will receive little if any attention. This blog and cauldronkeeper.livejournal.com will be silent until after September 19th.
There’s so much I haven’t finished.
A couple of submission calls looked very interesting, but I’ve run out of time to finish stories in response to them.
I’ve hardly worked on Aissa and Polyxena.
More Than a Jinrou and A Hopeless Situation sit, unfinished at Archive of Our Own.
I haven’t even started posting Soulless or the great multi part fanfic I’ve been planning since the 1990s. I’ve done some research I wanted to complete as part of the latter.
I’ve made one of my NaNoWriMo planner goals, but only one.
Time slips away from me, running out like sand through my hands. Before I know it, I’m staring at my bare palms.
Sometimes I truly wish I had Hermione’s time turner. I smile ruefully a moment later, realizing it’s just as well I don’t. I’d probably kill myself with it. :)
What I’m getting better at is planning for the lack of time. At picking, choosing, and prioritizing the tasks with the greatest need.
I guess I’m finding out what truly needs to be done. Every day with each choice I make. One step at a time.
